Blogging in...and Around Comics

How could you not listen to a podcast that came from this.....

"In the Summer of 2005, Chris and Sal, friends and fellow comic book fans, visited a comic book convention. While there, Chris, an avid listener of podcasts, decided to flex his journalistic muscles, and interviewed many comic book professionals, while Sal, a budding alcoholic, got drunk with Paul Jenkins and Ed Brubaker. "
(from the Around Comics Wiki)

Around Comics is a show ....wait...was a show all about comics. Recently Tom, Sal, Chris, Skottie and anyone else who had a vote decided to take the Around Comics podcast and broaden its horizons. The show now has opened up the discussion. There have been times in the past, one time for example that was brought up when a discussion on "Kid Nation" almost broke out, but they held it in to stick to comics. Now the new more open format still is mostly about comics, since thats what the guys love to talk about the most, but they now have time to discuss things like movies, tv shows, and cds. They are even now on thier forums to find a name for a club they are forming. Once a month they will all take a Trade Paper Back, a dvd and a cd, and listen to/watch/read them so at the end of the month they can discuss them. This will hopefully give us all a chance to see what the guys like besides comics.

Around comics is a great show, but it brings me back to what I said when I talked about the 1up Yours podcast, Around Comics can empty your wallet in a hurry if your a comic book fan. I trust these guys almost as much as my friends Dave and Rob when it comes to recommending comics, so when they say you have to read this, I already start thinking about when my next trip to the comic shop will be.

All I have to say is if your a podcast fan, not necessarily a comic book fan, you should check out Around Comics. If your a comic book fan and you haven't yet....you HAVE TO listen to Around Comics. You can to their site or subscribe using their RSS feed.
